Everything is always happening now, and everything is always brand new.
Final post for the month, as I sit here waiting for students to arrive. Hasn't been much of a month for the writing career. All I've done is this thing, no fiction, no poems, no nothin'. Now I'm here, looking out the window from the fifth floor at the passing peak hour traffic on George Street. I'm still waiting

The wisest comment I ever heard about the suburbs was "they can just get fucked."
Just why do I despise standardised middle class consumerist life to the extent that I do....? Let me count the ways.....
Being contented and self-satisfied with a high and growing income is about the worst thing for any kind of inner development.
Some days, some nights, you have inspiration and everything just flows. Other days, other nights, you just stare at the screen and nothing comes. I know I'm not much of a writer, but I have a few things to say, I think. A few stories to tell, a few experiences to recount.

All food is just shit waiting to happen. Vanity and gluttony are just a whisker apart

It's been a heck of a while since I did a proper post here and there's not much excuse really, except that between work, relationship, shopping, eating, drinking, sleeping (or trying to) and reading there hasn't actually been a whole lot of time for anything. Rhea's birthday party was this weekend. Do I give the sanitised version, or do I mention the drunken argument that began in the taxi and continued on to my place at the end of the night? Anyway, it wasn't a bad night really, all told. Most of Rhea's friends came, a few of my dearest oldest friends in Sydney came. The restaurant was mighty pleasant, eating outdoors in a lovely courtyard, stars in the city sky. And then on to the Lenin bar in Circular Quay, a kind of retro, faux-Soviet place to get drunk on beer and martini.

What else is new? Work is has been ahem....not so much fun lately, which means it's doing what work is supposed to do. However, it's set to be slightly ahem...more fun fun next week. I prefer teaching to administrating. Uni ended, I passed everything, distinctions all round, big surprise. So life is......normal.

Wonder what will happen after all the people have gone from the earth? How will nature repair itself of the damage we've done?
